Innovation, engineering and technological cooperation in nutrition and poultry health in Argentina

The growing interest in analyzing the integration of services in the industry represents a challenge. Not only for the field of research on economic development in the outskirts, but also from the perspective of science, technology and innovation policies.
The companies with deep knowledge in the field present specific modalities of innovation and relation with institutions that have expertise on a local and global scale. This differentiates them from traditional manufacturers.
The results of a study on companies supplying products and services of nutrition and animal health of the poultry sector in Argentina are revealed here. The main objective is to demonstrate that these suppliers identify themselves as knowledge-intensive service companies (KIBS), with specific modalities of technical cooperation with science and technology institutions.
Therefore it is necessary to establish instruments of science, technology and innovation policies that, in turn, contribute to the dynamics of knowledge production and innovation of this type of companies that differentiate from traditional manufacturers.
