South American lithium: strategic resource and technological connection

Abstract

During september 2019, the Bolivian Lithium Beds (YLB) enterprise - created by Evo Morales to carry out the lithium industrialization plan - organized two international events: the first 'international Forum: Regional Present and Perspective of Lithium' organized on september 5, 6 and 7 at Uyuni, Potosí along with the inter-American Development Bank, and the 6th 'international Workshop on Lithium, industrial Minerals and Energy' which took place between september 9th and 11th at La Paz, along with the Bolivian Catholic University, the CELiMin (Antofagasta University, Chile) and the British Embassy in Bolivia. sociologist Federico nacif (Quilmes national University) was invited to give, as closing, a global and comparative view on current lithium techno-productive models in south America, their historical trajectories, their current dynamics and future potentialities.
