A model where everyone wins? Class and structural tensions in current Pampean agrobusiness

In recent decades, numerous studies have been carried out on the changes in agrarian social actors associated to structural transformations in Pampean agriculture. The tendency towards the expulsion of some profiles, the processes of social recomposition of certain subjects and the emergence of new actors, among other issues, have been pointed out. But the attempts to undertake a global analysis of the agrarian social structure and, even more so, the analysis from a perspective of social classes have little development.
The objective of this paper is to make a reflection on the Pampean agriculture actors in terms of social classes and class fractions, analyzing their structural tensions around the basic factors of agricultural capitalism: land, capital and labor. Then, on that basis, we make progress in giving an answer to the question about what is the alliance of classes and fractions that would sustain the current production model, considering the predominant and subordinate positions within it.
