Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the movements of the rates of profit for different branches of production in Argentina, in the period after the economic crisis of neoliberalism. For this, we present calculations at a sectoral level, which we understand represents a contribution both in methodological and empirical terms. Likewise, even if it is redundant, it should be noted that the general rate of profit accounts for the joint movement of capital, which tends to compensate sectoral profit rates around an average and can, therefore, disguise the particular processes of each branch. The article develops in detail the construction methodology of the different indicators and, at the same time, brings new elements to explain the process of production and reproduction of extraordinary profits in certain economic sectors of our country.
