Abstract

In the context of neoliberal resurgence in Latin America, this work aims to analyze perceptions and justifications of inequality that certain ideologies found in Argentine society produce and reproduce. For this, we divided this paper in two parts: first, a systemic and quantitative analysis that deals with statistical data and allow us to follow the path of economic inequality over the last few years; then, we present the results of our qualitative research, focusing on the concept of social justice, in order to trace the relationships between socioeconomic processes that involve great changes in social inequalities and the ideologies that justify them, allowing different degrees of acceptance and encouragement of inequalities. In a broad sense, this paper presents a reflection on the problems of contemporary democracy.
