Abstract

The objective of this work is to reconstruct the accumulation strategies of the business chambers representing the productive segment of the Argentine automotive sector in the period 2002 - 2015, identifying the tensions that came about in relation to the project of the regional productive integration within MERCOSUR. For this purpose we identify the main demands of the business chambers of the sector (ADEFA and AFAC) and the public policies carried out, reviewing a series of journalistic sources, interviews with key informants and sectoral documents, regulations and regulatory changes. In the study period we find that the accumulation strategies of the business chambers of the Argentine automotive complex were compatible to a certain extent and for a short period of time with the political strategy of deepening regional productive integration, but after the world crisis these strategies collided and the demands on short and medium term objectives prevailed.
