Public Policies to Reduce Territorial Inequalities in Argentina
Keywords:
Inequality, Concentration, Public policies, RootingAbstract
Argentina is a country with socio-territorial asymmetries that are expressed in the presence of a central area where population, infrastructure and activities are concentrated, while there are vast regions lagging behind. These asymmetries have been the subject of studies and public policies since the mid-20th century, but they have not been able to substantially change the existing gaps.
In order to identify successes and limitations that can contribute to the management of public policies to reduce these disparities, programs and projects directly or indirectly linked to this end and implemented since the beginning of the 21st century are analyzed. Policies formulated and implemented by different agencies of the national government are included, together with the different articulations with local governments and with different territorial coverage.
