Abstract

This paper aims to critically analyze the assumptions of the orthodox approach based on the description and analysis of the evolution of argentine exports and their relationship with the world grain and derivatives market throughout the twentieth century -particularly between 1970 and 2015- and with the main regulations imposed by the national state. in particular, the most important changes in world politics that had
a decisive influence on the evolution of grain production and trade in argentina will be studied. Finally, based on the analysis of argentina's insertion in the world grain trade and its influence on domestic production, it is proposed to revisit the theoretical approach of dependence in order to analyze the economic structure of argentina in these decades.
