Abstract

This paper addresses the sectoral dynamics of economic structure in the province of Jujuy during the cycle of Kirchnerist governments (2003-2015). The provincial characteristics are analyzed in contrast to the national dynamics, showing to what extent Jujuy follows the processes of the country as a whole and to what extent it presents its own specificities. A view of the productive restructuring process is also presented for the provincial case, with special emphasis on industry. As main results, it is observed that during the growth cycle of the period in Jujuy certain structural characteristics dating from the mid-1970s became more acute, although this did not strictly mean a reprimarization of the economy. Nor is there a process of reindustrialization, since the industrial sector not only lost its share in relation to the Geographical Gross product, but also increased its external concentration in previous decades.
