Abstract

The work proposes to analyze some recent changes in the urban economy of Neuquén as an intermediate city and provincial capital, where from the last eight years (2012-2019) they began to impact the advances of unconventional hydrocarbon development associated with investments in the upstream and midstream in the Vaca Muerta geological formation in the Neuquen basin. We take as a reference previous works of the research group that integrate the authors and  productions generated in network with other researchers referred to intermediate cities, in particular the case studies of Pampean and north-Patagonian cities. in this conceptual framework, indicators are updated that allow us to recognize the changes that are evident, in particular, in the city of Neuquén capital.
