Abstract

The third peronist government (1973-1976) aimed to carry out a profound restructuring of argentine capitalism through an ambitious program that sought to promote a national development on the basis of a comprehensive planning of the economy that covered multiple aspects of economic and social life. This work seeks to investigate the performance of the different fractions of capital in this crucial period of argentine history. For this purpose, it describes the behavior of the main fractions of capital and business corporations during the second import substitution (ISI) and in particular facing the economic project of José Ber Gelbard, and his actions during the final destabilization of the peronist government that culminated in the coup d'état of March 24th, 1976.
