This article analyzes coopetition (a hybrid business behavior that blends cooperation and competition), focusing on how this type of relationship manifests in the electronics industry of Córdoba (Argentina), through the case of the SMT Technology Center of the Chamber of IT, Electronics, and Communications Industries of Central Argentina (CIIECCA). Drawing on studies of innovation and industrial economics, the paper examines the context surrounding the creation of this production center, its setup and implementation, and its operation over nearly two decades. The work aims to contribute to the literature on coopetition, highlighting the mediating role of a business association and addressing current challenges in coopetitive production.
