In 2006, the national government established the Argentine Satellite Solutions Company S.A. (ARSAT S.A.) to secure Argentina's orbital positions assigned by the
International Telecommunication Union, which were previously occupied by a satellite operated by a foreign-owned company. This state intervention led to the creation
of a highly complex techno-productive sector. At the end of 2015, a government aligned with neoliberal principles took office, discontinuing the satellite development project and altering the role of the state as an economic planner. This article aims to analyze how and why the accumulation pattern implemented in Argentina at the end of 2015 disrupted an industrial development process in a strategic area of the economy.
